Body Styles / Models
The 570S came in 3 distinct models or body styles, which are covered in more detail on the "Version History" page, but a brief overview is offered here to describe the optional differences. The 570S appears to have been made in a quantity of about 500 per year for the US market.

- Spider/convertible (2017-2020)
The Coupe
The coupe was released in 2015 to replace the MP4-12C. It used the same () 3.8L twin-turbo V8 as the the 650S, delivering 562 bhp at a starting price of $190,000.
The GT
The GT was released in 2016 using the same engine and largely the same components, but had more luggage space thanks to an openable (side hinged) bubble rear window covering the engine bay, and doing away with the "flying buttresses" of the original Coupe variant. It also same with a standard panoramic roof, and a more luxurious interior. The ride was adjusted for more comfort as well, and the base price was bumped up to $200,000.
The Spider
The same basic car as the Coupe, but with a foldable 2-panel roof and spider style seat pillars, that could be opened/closed in 15 seconds at speeds up to 25 MPH. It was introduced in 2017 at a base price of $208,800. In addition to the retractable hard-top, the rear window is glass, and can be lowered separately from the top for an in-between experience.
Also, in 2018 several "editions" with special color and trim combinations were added. One of the additional choices to be ordered was a black "Dark Palladium grey" finish on the root. From the Mclaren Spider press release:
"Three new exterior colours celebrate the Spider’s introduction, with Curacao Blue, Vega Blue and Sicilian Yellow joining the existing Sports Series palette and giving Spider customers a choice of 20 colours in total. The new hues dramatically showcase the complex forms of the aluminium bodywork and unique-in-class dihedral doors, particularly when combined for added visual impact with an optional Dark Palladium grey contrast finish on the roof, windscreen pillars and rear buttresses."
